Goaltimate Website

Postby Schmidtc » Tue Dec 06, 2011 1:34 pm

Tara recently asked about where one might be able to buy a kit as the website which formerly was selling the kits has stopped doing do so and the website www.goaltimate.com is no longer active. I did a little more googling and discovered an email for Rick Conner, the man who at one time produced kits and was attempting to promote the sport with insane cash prizes. He was kind of enough to get back to me and informed me that he is still selling kits and directed me to a new website: http://goaltimaterules.com/. There's not much to the site, but you can still buy the kits through him.

Anyway, I'm pursuing the idea of writing a few articles on Goaltimate and plan to send him some questions and chat him up about Goalty days of yore. If you can think of any interesting and worthwhile questions I might pose to him, please feel free to email me personally (cuschmidt@gmail.com). If you'd like to respond with something you think is funny...respond to the thread.

Goaltytown...it's coming and it's going to be awesome.

FYI: I personally registered http://goaltimate.net , mostly to keep it out of the hands of domain squatters (like happened with http://goaltimate.com ).

I redirected goaltimate.net to the AFDC page on Goaltimate.
If there is a better place to direct it - like goaltimaterules (or if you want to undertake a new goaltimate site), let me know.

Thanks for reminding me, Craig. Keep it the way it is for the time being...but I may have some plans for it. :-)

some of us around here actually played in the tournament(s) rick put on. think the atl men went to a couple. Stu would of course be a good person to talk to. a bunch of us got flown to florida to play in one of rick's tourns w/ mens and womens divs (only one he ran that had women's div, I think). both w/ cash prizes, but I don't remember it being an insane amount of $. We were Atlanta Sol, and I can't remember the boys' team name. San Diego women won. details are super fuzzy. I'm old. A history of goaltimate would be fun to read.

Yes, I have been chatting with Stu a few other men who went to some of these tournaments. But I had no idea there was one with a women's division...that is very exciting to hear! Thanks for posting and I will be in touch to see what other details you can manage to recall.
