MST + 4th week + a bout of laziness threw me off. I'll get back on it.

Also not helpful - every other game we've played in the last 2 weeks has been against a team that was either missing most of their best players, savage, or not able to field a full line (Read: excuses to be lazy)

Scouting Reports 6.28, 7.5, 7.10
(Barely any of these teams showed up, but I’ll give it a whirl)

Lucky
Not worth going too much in there as they only had 8 people, one of which was this kid who I believe was about 10 or 11? And is going to be a threat in about 4 or 5 years. Kid knew what he was doing. Clearly this is a tourney team, who will be frightening if everyone shows up. Still love Mark Swanson, class act through and through. I’m assuming they will be similar to mother lovers when full strength, just not quite as much running. Annoying zones where they dare you to test that Willett guy who seemed pretty athletic, and a bunch of crafty handlers. Not to mention all of their women being super solid and tough to guard.

Brontosaurus
Offensively - Every single one of them can freaking move. This team is a nightmare to man up against, and if there is no weather they have the throwers to demolish zones. However, if Cameron and Max aren’t there they are a little weaker against said zones. They want to go deep. I think it was Hooten? giving us problems downfield. Fun matchup with Him against Thor and Tall B. He might be the best jumper on the team, but they’ve got some other kids who can just motor down the field so you have to be wary of a deep shot pretty much all the time. They didn’t utilize their girls as much against us, but both teams were savage women, so I think the ladies were a little low energy wise. They seemed to know what they were doing though.

Defensively - You are going to have to work to get open. Like I said before, they all can run, they don’t get tired, and they will chase you down. Lazy cuts don’t work, they will be all over that. Taller teams will give them issues as they are relatively short beyond that one guy who I hope I’m getting the name correct. Expect to have to work your ass off on both sides the disc against them or expect to lose.

Pretty Bird
Again, not really worth going into, they were savage without any of their studs beyond that Cloyd kid who has really learned how to use his body in the last couple of seasons. They will look to throw him floaty deep shots and let him use his height to bring it down. Similar to Beach Whale with Tree. Also, I would not poach the girls on this team. They are very competent, and did a great job of recognizing being open. They did a good job of putting up a fight despite being savage and missing their top players.

Scoregasms
Offensively - 1st of all - Neel looks really sexy in those Argyle shorts. Just sayin. Also, thanks for slapping me in the neck during that 1 on 1 whiskey slap at MST. You’re supposed to slap the cheek! Anyways, just because this is sort of an “All Draft” team don’t assume they are bereft of talent. Plenty of solid throwers, along with some kids who can just run all over the place make this team deceptive. They will make the occasional bad decision, unfortunate drop, but nothing worse than other teams. Standard zones they will deal with fine, weird zones they may struggle against. I apologize that I don’t know the lady’s name who was tearing us up when we played them, but she was definitely helping keep them in the game.

Defensively - Not the fastest team in the world, height or burners will cause problems for them, but they will work hard on D. Unfortunately, teams who play smart (read: most teams besides LHT) will be able to throttle them if they have any speed. They did do one of the coolest things I’ve seen at league at the end of our game against them during MST. Picked the player from our team who they thought played the best or hurt them the most and gave him a beer served on Frisbee. Which he proceeded to chug, to the delight of both teams. Good job Jimmy! Good spirit Gasms!

Party Rock
Poor Boezi - No Maddy, Snow, Simpson, Carlsen, Rhoda, Brian, Rhoda, Kathryn, Reeves etc. One girl and one dude sub. On a rainy day. At least he and Osher are beasts on the field together. Too bad no one could put it to them and they had no one to put it to. Obviously this team showed they can be pretty scary if people actually show up like Saturday of MST, but if the top players aren’t there, they will have a long day.

Finally got to play 2 games in a night! Woohoo.

Sorry for the delay Bams, but here’s your praise after that epic beatdown:

Booty Time -
Offensively - What happens when JMah, Bam Bam, and Grant are all on the same page and make (mostly) good decisions? Ridiculously quick and efficient scoring. Combine that with having an excessive amount of speed and this team is an utter nightmare to matchup with. The girls are very solid, and everyone is at least competent with the disc. You can’t play under as they are very happy to put it to the speedy receivers, and if you take away the deep shots, surprisingly JMah and co will take the easy in cuts (What happened to the old JMah?) Not surprised this team has done as well as it has all season.

Defensively - Probably would’ve put a few more points on the board if anyone on our team could’ve actually caught the damn disc in the endzone, nonetheless it’s a tenacious group on defense. They play just as hard on D as O, and will make you earn everything. If you have some height like our team that can be an issue for them, as this team is relatively short beyond Grant. Unfortunately, that did not stop Bams from becoming about the 500th guy under 6 feet tall to sky me. Hooray... And as always, having Rick on the sidelines with those sweet jams, makes you not hate this team despite the fact that they are probably kicking your ass.

Serious Trouble -
Well we didn’t even get to half, so limited viewing although I know most of the players on this team. They have a lot of solid pieces, but have odd drops at unfortunate times that just seem to kill them. Aileen is a force and a tough matchup for most girls, R John, Jay, Miguel, and Rede are all very reliable handlers. They just have a few too many newer players to finish games. I’ll be interested to see if this team comes back together, as I see a ton of potential. Not to mention they are one of the best spirited teams and always go out and do their best to have a good time.

OoDallalley - Rematch
I’ve already discussed this team before, but even without a bunch of really good players on the field they still caused a lot of problems. Just wanted to say that was a great game last night. I was marveling at how impressive Glasser and Wetzel were working together, not to mention the ridiculous defense that Wetzel was playing. Also, I did not realize LPS was such a capable downfield threat, definitely caught our team off guard a couple of times. Still going to disagree with that 5 ranking, but that’s just my opinion.

Rematches from 7.26

Mother Lovers - Learned our lesson from the first time we played them... Sort of. Instead of turning it over on our half of the field we threw ummm, semi questionable hucks even against the zone when space opened up. The nice thing about doing this, was even though we turned it over a bunch, making them work up the field is a lot easier to defend than having to figure out where your woman/man is on a turnover quick transition point. Nick Brown is still a pain to stop, all of their ladies are ballers, and everyone throws well so it’s never an easy matchup. Fun test. And whoever that guy not wearing a shirt was, that was a little nasty getting bodied up and having my arm just coated in man sweat. Not to mention I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules to grab me while I’m trying to cut past you, but that’s cool man... Put a shirt on next time please :)

Stranger Danger - First, I apologize for my terrible pick call A. Sal and Abe. Probably wasn’t a pick, I just got lazy and made a poor call, my bad. Maybe you shouldn’t have given me that shot before the game... Fortunately Abe wound up burning me later on the point, so I got what I deserved :). Best part of this game was Dawson showing up and walking onto the field with a Polo shirt, dress pants, and cleats. BAMF. If we had to play against a less lazy Abe and or Wood showed up, might’ve been a closer game. Get off the couch Abe.

Note about the Boulevard Upper fields - These fields are already a little short, but you need to shorten them another 5 - 10 yards or so because of that fence. We were ridiculously close to having a couple of really nasty collisions, and I was scared Tall B had wrecked himself trying to catch a huck. Not a big fan of those upper fields or the Candler fields right now.
